BTI’s Compact Medium-power In-building DAS Remote Node now in Production.
October 8, 2013 Cypress, CA – BTI Wireless, a leading provider of DAS solutions for in-building and outdoor networks, is announcing today that their all-new 5 Watt multi-band MIMO-ready in-building Remote Node for the popular mBSC™ line of Distributed Antenna System (DAS) products is now available for general release and ordering. BTI will showcase this product this week at the PCIA Infrastructure show in Hollywood, Florida in booth number 604.
The new mBSC-CM 5 Watt in-building Remote Node supports up to 5 frequency bands across a single WDM fiber, with a second fiber link available for MIMO or public safety bands. The compact 19” rack-mount housing holds up to eight 5 Watt bi-directional amplifiers, enabling flexible SISO or MIMO configurations. Integrated commissioning tools simplify the set-up and optimization of the end-to-end system through an intuitive new element management system.
Low-power node designs for big in-building projects require large quantities of remote active elements, which are often combined with high simulcast ratios of the BTS sectors. The low available downlink power limits design flexibility, especially in a multi-operator neutral host scenario. In addition, active nodes deployed within tenant-occupied space can increase operational costs and complexity. With higher power nodes a more reliable, efficient, and robust passive antenna system can be deployed providing the basis for operational efficiencies throughout the life of the venue.
“We are very excited to announce that we are now taking orders for this brand new remote node. This product was created through collaboration with our end-customers and deployment partners, and provides unprecedented flexibility for service providers of multi-operator, in-building DAS networks”, said Ron Poulin, VP of Sales and Marketing for BTI Wireless. “Combining linear medium and high-power node capability on a common host-end platform allows designers of modern DAS systems a level of flexibility critical in today’s DAS deployments, and BTI Wireless provides leading products in both categories.”
BTI’s mBSC DAS solution, with high-power 20/40W outdoor/indoor rated Remote Nodes and compact 5/10W indoor-rated Remote Nodes, is an ideal solution for commercial, institutional, campus and public venues.
Meetings and product demonstrations will be held at the BTI Wireless booth (#604).
